The JPY stresses that Clubs would follow voluntary Quarantine in cases where a player or other person on the team enters the team from abroad.
The international transfer window to Finland is currently open, so Clubs can register players from abroad.
According to THL’s guidelines , persons arriving in Finland from certain countries are in voluntary Quarantine for 14 days after arriving in the country. During Quarantine, all contact with other people should be avoided.
– We must continue to act responsibly in football, so we hope that the Clubs will follow these instructions strictly. The corona epidemic has not disappeared and we must do everything we can to ensure that there are no infections, says Markus Juhola, Executive Director of JPY.
The domestic series did not start in the 2020 season until June-July. Now all the series are underway and at least so far there is no evidence that the coronavirus infection chains have been triggered by football events.
– The match programs are built so that the pace of the game is really tight. However, the congestion was already known at the time the Clubs decided on the match schedule for the exceptional circumstances. Strong commitment and cooperation between all Actors is required to play the seasons as planned. The players’ association insists that the health of the players is the last and most important thing. In these exceptional circumstances, the responsibility lies within each club, Juhola adds.
